Erik Bernström

Erik is Managing Director of W.I Insurance Co and Stockholm Reinsurance Company; Director of Bothnia International Insurance Co and is based in Stockholm.

Erik qualified as a lawyer in 1976 and was in practise at a Maritime Law office in USA for 18 months before returning to Sweden in 1979 where he continued to practice maritime law.

In 1983, Erik became claims manager at Sirius Insurance Company before it was acquired by LFAB in 1991. At LFAB, Erik has been Director of claims and business support; Head of Wisbaden office; Director of Marine Hull & Cargo department and was responsible for leading LFAB’s environmental certification process in 2001.

In 2002, Erik joined Wasa Run-Off and was made Manager of claims and commutations and in 2008 became CEO, he joined Compre when the business was acquired by Compre Holdings in 2009.
